How to Highlight Your Delivery Driver Skills
On Your Resume
Provide detailed information on both your hard and soft abilities on your resume. Instead of just calling yourself an “experienced driver,” describe the kind of cars you’ve driven, the situations you’ve driven them in, and how long you’ve driven them. Use your successes and the responsibilities of your previous employment to highlight your soft skills.
In Cover Letters
Provide a sample of when you used each talent you listed in your resume. This strategy allows companies to see your abilities in action rather than being simply another name on a list.
You may give an example of a situation in which your familiarity with car maintenance enabled you to quickly identify and resolve a problem, causing the least disruption to your planned deliveries.
During Interviews
Usually, employers want to hear how your abilities have contributed to your success in previous positions. Bring samples of your work to demonstrate your abilities when you attend the interview.
For instance, you could discuss how you handled a challenging route or politely and professionally handled a client issue.
